Important: Every estimate should be confirmed with an itemized treatment plan from a licensed veterinarian.

Inputs We Model

  • National baseline procedure ranges for common routine, diagnostic, emergency, and surgical care.
  • Regional cost multipliers based on expected rent, labor, staffing, and cost-of-living differences.
  • Procedure complexity, anesthesia needs, medication dosage, emergency timing, and specialty referral likelihood.
  • Annual ownership variables such as species, size, age, preventative care, nutrition, and emergency cushion.

Source Status

The current public prototype uses modeled estimates stored in js/data.js. Before production launch, each procedure range should be validated against current clinic quotes, published wellness clinic pricing, insurer claim summaries, or documented survey data.

When a source is added, record the date checked, geography, clinic type, procedure definition, included invoice items, and whether the figure is a quoted estimate or a final paid invoice.

What The Range Means

The low end usually reflects shelters, mobile clinics, wellness pop-ups, or lower-cost general practice settings. The midpoint approximates primary care veterinary pricing. The high end reflects emergency, specialty, urban, or complicated cases.

What We Do Not Claim

We do not diagnose pets, guarantee reimbursement, rank clinics, or certify provider availability. Sample clinic cards are planning categories, not provider endorsements.

Update Cadence

Static estimates should be reviewed at least quarterly before public launch and whenever major veterinary inflation, labor, insurance, or medication pricing changes occur.
